my own search engine optimization.

I realize I've now posted twice in one day, but it's 3 o'clock, i'm unemployed, and adam's birthday is tomorrow, so i might not get to squeeze one in...

so I was reading a blog about how someone measures other's worth by googling their name and seeing how many items there is on the internet about them.

Huh.... interesting concept, probably not necessarily a positive approach, but nonetheless... I tried it.

bad idea. According to this method, i dont exist.
I've never had a sports article written about me (though i do recall trying to finagle my way into a soccer one about amanda stewart. I believe i stood next to the reporter trying to call out answers to his questions. Of course this was just to say a memorable quote about amanda in hopes of having the "fellow teammate and long time friend, Tricia Palmer..." line in there somewhere. unsuccessful.) and i guess having your name mentioned in the "1st and second teams all conference doesnt really make it to the top of the rankings in google's criteria. lame.
I may have one time been in the school paper about the play oliver, as I was a "Chorus boy". But school papers dont count, and that paper only came out whenever they finished it, so maybe twice a year, at unpredictable times--probably by then chorus boys were old news.
I didnt ever win any awards big enough to make the county paper.
I didnt put in an engagment announcement (what was I thinking, that was probably my only chance!?).
And the biggest slap in the face.... My facebook profile isnt even the first tricia palmer. (some might think of this as a good thing, less creepers, but i was slightly appalled). It's some red head who's apparently a "fan" of sushi and her mom.

bottom line: i need to work on my own personal search engine optimization. That way people might see just how important i am.

disclaimer: i tried googling tricia palmer ludwig, and i was the first one for facebook, but that's not even really my name. and there are no related articles following it about me. so i feel like it doesnt really count. and i shouldn't have to put ludwig in there for clarification.

cardigan queen?

Liz, do you own this cardigan yet? I've seen it now in several stores and I feel like you would/do. I wanted to test my instincts.

present surprises

adam's birthday is on friday. he's gonna be 25. so i've been planning what to get him and this week trying to get it all together. I'm just glad he's not liz because it'd be really easy for him to find out what it is. she'd ask around and sneak around to figure it out (punk). Fortunately, telling him not to go onto our online banking and see where my debit card has been used is typically taking enough precautions to keep things a secret. But i must say, being married and planning surprises is harder than i thought.

wish i could tell you more, but sometimes he reads this.

Clearwater 09

Me and my mom at the Beach House in Bradenton. I love eating on the water... cloudy or not.

Poor Keje got burnt on the first day. She's applying tea as the home remedy that the internet suggested. sad day.

Me and Mer by the pool, and the bay. Sweet set-up.

pretty pretty sunsets...

Apparently this tanning position isn't in everyone's "rotation"?? You may want to reconsider.

She's confused sometimes.

Kyle's motorcyle. He took as all for rides. it was sweet.

So that's about the sum up of the trip: seeing my mom, motorcycles, drinks/food on the beach, crazy dancers, and sun, sunsets, and more sun.

good to be back, the humidity really does nothing good for my hair. But the weather in North Idaho right now makes it quite easy to fully appreciate Florida's coastal awesomeness. ahhh....

TMI

all i really wanted to say today is that using your husband's deodorant is really an unacceptable substitute for your own (unless it's mitchell or something unscented). This leaves me at a loss until i can find my own, which is unfortunate because as my dad likes to say: a day without deodorant is a day without friends.

lets hope i find mine soon.

It was so good to be back in philly for a few days! We had so much fun seeing friends and family. My mantra during the trip seemed to be: "i wish i could have seen you longer, this was too short. But here are some pics. (I'll probably post the rest on facebook).

tanning preseason

Kirstin, your friend is right: tanning in 67 degree weather is totally doable. I proved this to be true yesterday. I laid out for about 3 hours (amidst looking for a job, so no one is thinking this is why i dont have one yet) joined some of the time by my fellow north idaho tanning partner, kedron. It was fabulous. We just needed to get ready for our florida trip. plus, it's quite therapeutic. And while yes, it is a little awkward standing in your yard wearing only your bathing suit while people walk past in jeans and t shirts, you just have to remember that they'll be the ones on the beach in may with the light reflecting off their white bodies, and you'll be the one with the "nice bronze glow".
I have included this pic mostly for you liz... and for our fear of tan lines. pay special attention to the rollerblader.

Easter Dresses

Remember easter dresses? I couldn't find any of my own annual easter photos, so I creepily found this little girl on google images. But i think she's pretty indicative of what i looked like: fancy shoes (with some type of heal that i'd clank around the bathroom with cause i liked the sound), white tights, some type of over-the-top frilly disaster of a dress, the matching purse, cardigan (maybe the only practical item of the whole get-up), lacy gloves of some kind, and a hat to top it all off. As i got older, i might have decided to lose an accessorie or two, (or six), but still loved the tradition of getting an "easter dress" every year. I think it had something to do with my mom. because later on in life i still tried to pull off a new "easter outfit" with my dad, and it just didnt seem to fly as easily.

this year... i'm not even trying it on adam because we're having a weekend of family portraits in the jean/white shirt uniform. but next year, i might try to bring it back...

and incase you were curious, i'm pretty sure my brothers wore little matching suits most years, until they were old enough to put their foot down.

sunburn?

I had a good week last week. It was a nice break from my normal week of job searching-cleaning-workout-slowness. Carla (Adam's mom) was in town. we did lots of fun, just hang-out stuff. Saw lots of movies, had lots of starbucks, and lots of good food. The week ended with fantastic weather, sad goodbyes, and some fishing, sunburn (!), and arrested developement. Wish i had pictures to post, but we can't find our camera cord; or I should say I can't find the camera cord-in case adam reads this.

now just holding out until next weekend.... less than 5 stinkin days!
