settling back down...

this is our first "normal" week in a while.

By normal i just mean, no trips, no guests, no house-sitting. Not that ANY of those things were bad. I actually loved it all. I just finally feel like our lives are settling down again. I'm looking forward to some normalcy: cleaning, cooking (i'm finally cooking dinner tonight, i think it's been a couple weeks--burgers and casadillas aside), mailing out late birthday presents, finally writing back a friend, regular work-outs, small group, and to top it all off, an extra-short work week, art walk with keje on friday, and gorgeous weather to enjoy it all with:).

there are a few things we're still juggling, but i'm just excited to slow down a bit

Smoothies

I love them. I love inventing new combos of fruit and things to put in them. Today at lunch i decided to make myself one. As i was experimenting, i spotted the honeydew in the fridge. I knew it was a gamble because not many people put honeydew in their smoothies, like at the real smoothie places i mean. anyway so i did today. blueberries, banana, honeydew.

verdict: go with the pros. dont add honeydew to smoothies.

Week 2, Day 2

treated myself at lunch to a TCBY white chocolate mousse (heaven) because there's not an ounce of sweets at our super fit, avg. bike workout 50 mi/day, friends house where we're housing sitting.

chocolate jimmie crawled between my butt and my car seat only to be spotted when i got back to my car AFTER work....
translation: chocolate jimmie stain on the butt of my pants.

stupid sweet tooth.

Big Kid Stuff...

So adam and i went to talk to people about home loans today. it's helpful for us to know how to plan the next few months/years if we know what's even an option. We went to 2 banks, one was more promising than the other. My work history being so scattered and his w2/1099 debacle seem to be the hold ups. We'll see though.
but we're proud of ourselves for doing "big kid stuff" all day.
now... onto free root beer floats from A & W, church, and movie night with Keje at patsy.

Week 1

So i started work this week back at my old company, different boss. It was good overall. There was a moment with my work-ex (my old boss) who doesnt know i'm back at the company. I call her my work-ex now because i feel like i'm in HS sneaking around my ex boyfriend with my new one he doesnt know i'm dating yet. There's a "girls-only" open house next week, she's invited, but i wonder if she'll be there.
There were also a few awkward/clumsy moments on my part, mostly today. I ate a chocolate chip granola bar at my desk. Inevitable a stray chip landed right in the crotch of my dry-clean-only light gray linen pants. (i bought a tide pen at lunch).
Cracked open a DC and spilled it all over those same gray pants managing to hit my purple shirt as well.
I was sent to the post office, apparently right down the road, but i couldnt find it and had to call and wake keje up from her nap for directions after texting google didnt work. 30 minutes later i shuffle back into the office totally defeated.
lastly, i also stole a mini hershey's milk chocolate bar from the basket of candy beside the door for clients. Moments later, the phone rings and i'm the only one available to answer it. I chewed fast and answered with half a mouth full-a lose-lose situation-sounding like i have marbles in my mouth, and not getting to enjoy the chocolate piece. (this has happened twice now).

next week is a new week. Overall though it was good. If i'm getting off at 4 and having fridays off.... i'll work with chocolate on my pants every day if i had to. or maybe i should just monitor my chocolate in take a bit closer.

nothing interesting

i know i haven't blogged in a while... it's probably because nothing super interesting has happened. i mean that's blog worthy.

here's why i say that...

we had a fabulous time with adam's sisters and the nieces and nephew, but they posted great pics on their blogs, and since they're 2/5ths of my readers, i figured it's safest to just direct you to their blog.

i got a job, that's exciting, but again all of my readership probably already knew that

well... here might be something new: we might be looking into getting a saint bernard puppy. short haired. adam is really pushing for a big dog, i'd just prefer medium sized, but i'm kinda a sucker when it comes to him. hence idaho.

oh... one last thing... if you see Hangover, leave just before the credits, it'll make it way way way better. trust me.
