my beat

it's my new favorite song, and also what i spent yesterday dancing around our townhouse to while i made zucchini bread and did other "stay-at-home wife" things.

..figured i'd create a mental picture so you can have a glimpse into my weekdays.
...also thought i'd help make it possible for you to join in on the fun.

Philly Pride

The Phils clinched the playoff spot! Just thought i should remind everyone i'm still cheering my little heart out all the way from Idaho. Hopefully now they'll show more games on TV!

two important notes:

1. i discovered in my time home without adam that on saturday mornings at 11 30 the christian channel here, which happens to be one we get, plays "McGee and Me". Last week was the episode where he snuck out to see revenge of the blood sucking zombies at the theater after his parents said no. this week was about sticking up for yourself against bullies and for nick that meant being in a skateboarding race.

i'm just hoping for a "buttercream gang" sighting, or maybe even "on our own" sometime soon.

2. i just thought as a reaction to the last post i left that i should mention a good and encouraging point my husband made: honestly, i dont have it too bad considering all that's going on in our country right now. And while he made this point at a time where i would have preferred sympathy, he did have a great point. I should keep some perspective sometimes.

The Life of Waiting...

My life lately has seemed to consist more or less of just waiting.
-waiting to hear back about jobs
-waiting for good ones to be posted somewhere
-even waiting to get a reply about volunteering
-waiting for adam to come home from work everyday
-waiting for laundry to be done
-waiting for my dad to come visit
-waiting waiting waiting...

but quite frankly, i dont like waiting. in fact, it's probably what i dislike the most. I can be a very impatient person, just ask my husband.

BUT there's hope. There's finally been movement in the whole waiting for everything situation. Yesterday Adam and i went to the high school youth group to check it out and see if we wanted to be small group leaders. We havent decided yet, but we met some people who we seemed to have a lot in common with (leaders, not students) and hopefully that will lead us somewhere.

So i know i havent' posted in a while, but that's because this news is really the only thing that's changed in our lives since last wednesday. Hooray for changes.

Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

i didn't have much to write about today, so i figured i'd post some old pictures of my new home. These were taken last november, but everything still looks pretty much the same.

So... not tons of corn fields and open space--at least not in coeur d'alene.

hopefully this inspires you to come visit us:)

A tribute to southern gospel music

Here's the thing...

when you don't have cable, you have to watch basically whatever channels come through your tv clearly. And by clearly i just mean the picture doesn't scroll across the screen, the fuzz sound doesn't overpower the program sound, and you can make out what is happening on the screen.

So this morning as i sit here waiting for Pier 1 to open, I was watching one of these "clear" channels. And wouldn't you believe what is on... Bill Gaither, Ernie Haas, and Scott Fowler, and "Signature Sound". I know i'm going to be made fun of for this, but I really enjoyed watching it. It definitely reminds me of my grandparents and the nights of watching their videos at the shore when the phillies werent playing. And those times when pop-pop would by the tickets for the Cathedrals concert twice a year, and Beth, Jul, and I would sit together and occasionally feel like celebrities when George Younce would talk to us on stage.

I know these songs are cheesy to most, but it still gives me that giddy little girl feeling when i hear those harmonies and see those familiar faces. I'm so thankful for this gift that Nanny and Pop-pop gave us, and how easy it is for me to go back to another happy time in my life.

"One Tree Bill"

so... yesterday might have been one of, if not my favorite, married day so far. I know this might be a bold statement considering we've been to Jamaica and driven across the northern part of the country together, but this might really top them. YESTERDAY Adam and I spent our whole day watching season 5 of One tree Hill, or "one tree bill" as he liked to call it. seriously, 12 hours of drama... it was perfect. Adam said he was scoring serious husband points and hopes they're transferable to 12 hours worth of xbox3. we'll see about that...

...but before you judge us, allow us to defend ourselves: we really truly had nothing to do yesterday, kate had sent it to me to watch, we had spent the day before helping kedron and patrick move in, we dont have cable, and we just got a "new" couch and 32" TV. If you ask me, that's the perfect recipe for a lazy saturday, and in my opinion, that's just what it was.

The blogging world is over-populated

So I decided to start blogging. I've been toying with the idea but have been holding out for several reasons:
one. I already have a diary, and I didn't feel like writing about my life TWICE
minus one. I realize I haven't written in my diary since I got engaged.
two. I have nothing to say to the world.
minus two. I realize that people can read if they want to or not. And I think news about naming the neighbors cat Vikki might make someone, even if it's just Liz, laugh.
three. I can't think of a name for my blog.
minus three. If you google "phrases" it's a big help.

So...

here I am.

But I enter the blogging world under these stipulations:
-I do not have to capitalize the letter "I" if I dont want to, after this post.
-I might not have anything to post at times.
-If you want to give feedback, you should.

here goes nothing...
